On Monday we leave Alabama and start our trek to Miami… with stops in Orlando and Vero Beach. On Thursday we fly back to St. Kitts where we will be until January 2014.
It’s our last year.
There are so many challenges to living in the Caribbean… crime, cost of living, being uncomfortable, power outages, island time… I could go on.
But it’s beautiful. Even when it’s cloudy and rainy, it’s still beautiful. And I want to capture this year… the scenery, Maddy, the culture, the kids… I want to remember it all.
So that’s why I am participating in Project 52… at least one picture a week for the next 52 weeks. I am not a good photographer and although I hope taking more pictures will help me improve, it’s not the reason for doing so. All of these pictures will be a treasure to our family for years to come.
Week One
I love this picture of Maddy’s bun. It’s the first bun she’s ever worn and it was done by her Aunt Heather. Maddy adores her aunt and ballet… so to her, the bun was a “Ballerina Bun”.

This picture is extra special to me because Sean’s family isn’t planning to visit us this year. Maddy will not likely see her Aunt Heather for a whole year.
Thank goodness for Skype.

I am looking forward to following your 52 photo project while you are in St Kitt’s. My husband & I vacationed there 28 years ago when I was expecting our first child – thought it was the last vacation we would have for a long time and we were right! I am participating in the photo project too at: scripturepicture.blogspot.ca
